What ㇝ means
It combines two movements in one continuous stroke. 提 names the rising movement and 捺 the sweep down-right. Here, “rising” describes the direction of the line, not lifting the pen off the page. A stroke is a line written in one movement without leaving the writing surface, even when it changes direction.
Chinese characters are built from strokes arranged within a square-shaped space. Symbols such as ㇝ let a text describe those individual strokes, including in indexes of character structure. CJK stands for Chinese, Japanese and Korean: it refers here to Chinese characters and their use across these writing traditions, not to every kind of writing in those languages.

1Questions people ask
1Can I build a Chinese character by typing strokes together?
No. Typing stroke symbols in a row leaves separate symbols; it does not assemble them into a Chinese character. To enter a complete character, use a Chinese-character input method.
