What 𪻱 means
It is a spelling variant of 函. A Chinese Buddhist history compiled by the monk Nianchang in 1341 prints 琅𪻱, matching the literary term 琅函. In 𪻱, a left-side 王, the jade radical, echoes the same component in 琅; this component assimilation is specific to the phrase.
Some Cantonese dictionaries also list haam4 for 𪻱 and gloss it as “book.” The spelling haam4 uses Jyutping, a system for writing Cantonese sounds with Latin letters.
A specialized character recorded for Taiwan household registration and a narrow literary use.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𪻱 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
