What 𱔒 means

Its reading follows the Vietnamese phrase around it. In thết khách, it writes thết, meaning to host or serve guests; in thánh thót, it writes thót, a light, clear ringing sound.

Nôm poems associated with Nguyễn Trãi, a 15th-century Vietnamese poet, include a cited thết example. An early collection of his poetry was prefaced around 1480 and later lost; a new compilation was printed in 1868. The thót reading also appears in an older poem collection, Bách vịnh.

Why does 𱔒 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
