The Hungary flag emoji 🇭🇺 and Hungary's national symbols

How to type the Hungarian letters Ő Ű and the forint
Hungarian is a Uralic language, distantly related to Finnish and Estonian, and its Latin alphabet adds nine accented vowels: Á É Í Ó Ú with an acute, Ö Ü with two dots, and Ő Ű with the double acute, the long versions of ö and ü. The length changes meaning: kor is age and kór disease, tör breaks and tőr a dagger. ő and ű are where people get stuck, because they are not in Windows-1252 and not on most keyboards outside Hungary; writing õ or û instead is a common mistake. Copy them from the grid, add the Hungarian keyboard layout (every one of the nine has its own key), or in Microsoft Word type 151 then Alt+X for ő and 171 then Alt+X for ű. In HTML they are ő and ű. All the letters with their sounds are on the Hungarian Letters page.

Their letters are on the German, Romanian, Croatian, Slovak and Slovenian collections, and the neighbour that shared a monarchy with Hungary until 1918 has its own Austria Emoji page.
