Downwards paired arrows

Down, emphatically: see below, scroll down, falling.

In plain text ⇊ typically does the job of a single down arrow with extra weight. Someone might write “details ⇊” to point at what follows, use it as a decorative pointer in a bio or caption, or put it beside a price or ranking for “dropping fast”. It carries no special message beyond direction; the context does the rest.

Because it is a text character rather than an emoji, it usually takes the colour of the surrounding text and sits in the line like a letter. That makes it handy in headings, table markers and decorated usernames where a coloured emoji arrow would look out of place.

What does ⇊ mean in maths?

It is a relation symbol; the paper or textbook defines it.

In the American Mathematical Society’s symbol set it is called \downdownarrows, one of a family with \upuparrows, \leftleftarrows and \rightrightarrows. These paired arrows carry no single agreed meaning the way = or ≤ do. Authors borrow them when they need an extra arrow-shaped relation and say what it stands for. If you see ⇊ in a formula, look for that definition rather than guessing; it is not the implication arrow, which is ⇒.
