What ⶽ means
It is a written Bench syllable in the Ethiopic script, not an emoji.
The Cch syllable series was added for Bench consonants pronounced with the tongue tip curled back. “Retroflex” describes that tongue position. A proposal for the Bench extension is documented by 1981. A 1998 encoding proposal says the forms had been in print for at least a decade, including a New Testament and educational materials.
How do I type ⶽ?
Use an Ethiopic keyboard layout or Unicode text entry.
Key assignments depend on the layout. If the character shows as a box, the font may lack Ethiopic coverage; that is a display issue, not an input failure.
