What ⶌ means
It writes a syllable inside a Me'en word.
Me'en is a language of Ethiopia. The Ethiopic script first developed to write Ge'ez, an older Ethiopian language, and was later adapted for other languages. In an Ethiopic syllabary, each sign writes a syllable within a word; ⶌ is not a word or message by itself.
The 2004 Ethiopian standards proposal set out extensions to the basic set for languages with their own spelling needs. It includes a Me'en syllabary and lists Me'en publications dated 1999–2002; these document the writing system in use, not the origin date of ⶌ.
How do I type ⶌ?
Use a Unicode-aware input method or character picker.
This is a Me'en writing character. An emoji keyboard is not designed to enter Ethiopic syllables; use a Unicode picker that accepts the character name or hexadecimal value.
