What ⁘ means
It highlighted selected passages. In one documented Ancient Greek manuscript use, four dot punctuation appeared in the margin beside a point of interest or a hymn’s last verse, a song of praise.
The margin is the blank edge of a page. Other dot-based marks had different roles across manuscript traditions.
Historical manuscript punctuation; reserve it for transcriptions or deliberate styling.
Do not substitute ⁞ for ⁘; the vertical mark signals a dictionary word break.

3Questions people ask
1Why does ⁘ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
