What 𑌙 means
It is Grantha’s ṅa: a nasal consonant with “a” built in. The nasal is made at the back of the mouth; a vowel sign changes that “a.”
Grantha grew from southern Brahmi traditions; intermediate forms appear in early Pallava inscriptions around the 4th century CE. It was used chiefly for Sanskrit sounds Tamil writing did not represent in the same way. Manipravalam manuscripts, a Tamil–Sanskrit literary mix, used both Grantha and Tamil scripts. Pallava-era script traditions connect Grantha with Tamil, Malayalam, and Southeast Asian scripts.
Formal and script-specific; it points to Grantha writing, often for Sanskrit.
Outside a Grantha text, it may be unreadable to someone who does not know the script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑌙 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Grantha block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𑌙\11319Why is 𑌙 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
