What ℧ means
℧ means conductance: how readily electric current flows.
A mho is an older unit name for conductance, spelled from “ohm” backward; one mho equals one siemens. The earliest recorded use of mho is from 1884.
In 1971, the SI adopted siemens, symbol S, as the unit name and symbol for conductance. ℧ is therefore older or specialist notation.
Specialist electrical notation: mho is older terminology, while SI uses the siemens.
Use ℧ for conductance, not ordinary resistance.

1Questions people ask
1Why does ℧ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
