What 𘬸 means
Kane’s 2009 index gives it no reading or gloss. It lists 𘬸 as Khitan graph 042. Sound signs in this script often form clusters, so an isolated sign may be only part of a word.
The Khitan-led Liao court commissioned Large Script first. Around 925, the emperor’s younger brother Yelü Diela devised Small Script to write Khitan. Its forms drew on Chinese characters and, accounts say, a writing system used by Uyghur peoples farther west.
A 2017 list of surviving monuments begins with a 1053 tomb inscription. Small Script served in records, poetry and translations. Jin rulers abolished it in 1191; a find at a Liao mausoleum in 1922 renewed study. The Jurchen, founders of Jin, adapted Khitan models for their own scripts.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘬸 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
