What ⤹ means
It marks a path curving anticlockwise along the left side.
MathML, a computer-readable format for mathematical notation, lists ⤹ as an infix operator, meaning it is placed between terms in an expression. That is a placement rule, not one meaning shared by every field.

1Why does ⤹ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
