logic gate inverted output

Inverted Logic Gate Output

𜰘 marks a gate’s result as the opposite of what its inputs produce. In a circuit drawing, it modifies another gate rather than naming one itself. It survives from an early home-computer character set.

What 𜰘 means

It changes 1 to 0 and 0 to 1. A logic gate turns simple 0-or-1 inputs into a result. With an AND gate (both inputs must be 1), this yields NAND; with an OR gate (either can be 1), NOR.

The character maps to the Sharp MZ-700’s European alternate display set, an extra table of screen characters. The MZ-700 series dates to 1982; Unicode later preserved the glyph.

Technical circuit notation; outside a schematic, its role may be unclear.

Why does this symbol display as a box?

Your font likely lacks its glyph. Unicode 16.0 in 2024 introduced it, so older fonts may show a missing-glyph box; a font with support can display it.
