Ol Onal contrasts this dental d with a curled-back d. Mahendra Nath Sardar began it around 1981; the Bhumij group Adim Bhumij Samaj chose it in a 1992 contest. Bhumij is also written in Odia, Bengali, Devanagari and Latin. belongs to the uppercase form; lowercase Galang Onal dropped out of print.
Bhumij groups used Ol Onal in ritual writing and on banners, inscriptions, wedding invitations and wall paintings by 2022.
