What 🯷 means
Seven-segment displays give it its bar shape. The Atari ST was a personal-computer line; programs used this digit style apart from ordinary text, including for game scores.
A 1903 patent showed a telegraph printer forming letters and numbers from strokes; an eight-segment display was patented in 1908, and power stations used seven-segment indicators by 1910. A few bars showed numbers with simpler hardware than a text screen. Electronic displays made the style familiar in the 1970s.
