What ܍ means
It marks a passage linked to an editor’s margin note.
The Harklean apparatus was a set of margin signs for comparing Syriac wording with Greek readings. Surviving Gospel manuscripts containing the translation begin in the eighth century.

The trio adapts Greek asterisk and obelus marks associated with Origen’s Hexapla, a Bible edition that set versions side by side in columns. In mixed-script text, Syriac’s right-to-left direction and font choice can make ܍ appear misplaced.
