What 𑛆 means
It represents the number six in Takri writing. Takri uses a decimal set of numerals, and 𑛆 is the one for six.
Takri’s six kept its value as the script’s role changed
Takri developed from the Sharada script by way of Devāśeṣa, an intermediate form that emerged in the 14th century; Takri became distinct in the 16th century. Its numerals served ordinary number writing in commercial, personal, official, and documentary records.
From the 17th century to the middle of the 20th century, regional Takri forms served as official scripts in princely states and as popular commercial writing. As Devanagari displaced Takri, daily use gave way to historical records, digital preservation, and revival.
Takri has historical links to the Sharada, Landa, and Gurmukhi writing traditions; Dogra Akkhar is a closely related Dogra form. Regional styles can draw this numeral differently without changing its value.
