What 𘧈 means
Use Unicode character input in a text editor. Some editors let you enter a character by its hexadecimal code point; use 189C8 there. If it appears as a box, switch to a font with Tangut coverage—the stored character is unchanged.
What is 𘧈 used for?
It is a component of Tangut writing, not a word on its own. Tangut components are structural pieces used to analyze and index larger Tangut characters; “457” is a modern scholarly label, not a translation.
A Unicode review in 2025 lists three encoded Tangut characters containing 𘧈, each glossed “pillow.” That meaning belongs to those larger characters, not automatically to 𘧈. The Tangut script was established around 1036 for the Western Xia state and Buddhist publishing. It drew on Chinese writing and nearby Khitan script traditions, but remained its own writing system.
Specialist and historical: useful for identifying Tangut writing, not ordinary messages.
“Pillow” is a gloss for larger characters containing 𘧈, not for the component alone.
