What 𘫪 means
A lookup component, not a word to translate.
𘫪 is a Tangut component used to describe or index larger Tangut characters. Its role is not a fixed word meaning, and one component need not contribute the same way in every character.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for the Western Xia state, also known as Xixia. It was taught in government schools and used for official and diplomatic writing, Buddhist translations, and block printing. After the state fell in 1227, Tangut writing continued; a known later example dates to 1502.
Why can its role change across characters?
Its contribution depends on the larger character.
A 12th-century Tangut dictionary, the Sea of Characters, analyzed characters through parts derived from other characters. Modern dictionaries do not all use the same component sets, so a component is a way to organize Tangut writing, not a fixed glossary entry.
Is 𘫪 a Chinese radical?
No; it is a Tangut component.
Tangut is its own script, influenced by Chinese writing; 𘫪 is not a Chinese character. Tangut, Khitan, and Jurchen were distinct North Asian writing systems in a history spanning the 10th–13th centuries. A shared setting or visual resemblance does not make their signs interchangeable.
Technical script-analysis text: a lookup component, not ordinary standalone writing.
Do not treat it as a Tangut word or a Chinese translation.
