What 𗇾 means
𗇾 is a Tangut verb meaning “to move.”
A scholarly reconstruction gives its Tangut reading as *dow²; the asterisk marks a pronunciation inferred from historical evidence.
Tangut writing was created in 1036 for Western Xia administration and to translate Buddhist and Chinese texts. Chinese writing inspired it, but Tangut has its own components. Use continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; Buddhist pillars dated 1502 attest to later use. These dates concern the script, not 𗇾’s first known appearance.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗇾 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
