What 𗋠 means
Use an input method with hexadecimal code-point entry.
Type 172E0 when the method asks for the code point. If your setup has no such input, use a character map that searches the Tangut block; emoji keyboards and shortcodes do not list this text character.
What does 𗋠 mean?
It is a Tangut character glossed “glutinous (rice).”
Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut–Chinese dictionary maps 𗋠 to entry 1992; an English index glosses that entry as “glutinous (rice).” The Unicode label identifies the character but does not translate it.
The Tangut script wrote the Tangut language of Western Xia. It was created in 1036 under emperor Li Yuanhao to support the state, including an identity distinct from Song China and translations of Buddhist scriptures into Tangut. It also carried official texts and translations from Chinese and Tibetan. Its design was inspired by Chinese writing but did not derive from it; the Tanguts also followed Khitan neighbors who had created scripts a century earlier. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut writing remained in use; the last known examples are Tangut inscriptions on Buddhist pillars erected in 1502.
