What 𗍕 means
Tangut dictionaries gloss it as “garment collar” or “lapel.”
The Tangut–Chinese entry uses Chinese 衿 for the collar or lapel of clothing; 衿 is the gloss, not an interchangeable Tangut character.
The Western Xia court commissioned the Tangut script around 1037 for writing Tangut. Its design drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions, but Tangut is a separate language and script. Surviving texts begin in the mid-11th century; the latest known inscription dates to 1502.
Neutral as a Tangut text character; a lone modern-chat appearance is best treated as a script or text reference unless the surrounding message gives a literal reading.
As of 2026, some mobile apps can show 𗍕 as a box when no Tangut-capable font is available; the text can still be intact.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗍕 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
