What 𗗭 means
It is a Tangut verb glossed “attend” or “wait upon.”
In a Tangut sentence it functions as a verb for attending to or serving someone. By itself, the glyph does not reveal the sender's intent.
Where did the Tangut script come from?
It was developed under Western Xia’s ruler Li Yuanhao.
The script was created about 1036 for state-building and Buddhist canon work. It was then used in official records and translations of Chinese and Tibetan texts.
The earliest known transmitted example is an official document dated 1072. Tangut writing continued in later Yuan and Ming contexts after Western Xia fell; that document dates a surviving record, not the first appearance of 𗗭.
Is 𗗭 a Chinese character?
No; Tangut is a distinct script and language, influenced by Chinese writing.
Tangut character design borrowed visual and structural ideas from Chinese writing. Nearby Khitan scripts offered another example of a state using its own character-based script. Those historical links do not make 𗗭 a Chinese variant.
Specialist and archival: it points to Tangut writing, manuscripts, or study of the script.
Alone, it can read as an unexplained historical glyph; include a translation if the verb meaning matters.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗗭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
