What 𗘪 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “clan.”
It names a kin group or lineage, not a universal family sign.
Tangut writing took shape in Western Xia around 1036 for state-building, cultural independence, and a Buddhist canon in Tangut. It drew on Chinese writing principles and models from the neighboring Khitan people, but remained a separate script. Buddhist and secular translations show its wider literary use.
Historical Tangut text; its gloss concerns kinship.
Don't use it as a generic family sign.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗘪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
