What 𗾳 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “old.”
Li Fanwen’s 2008 dictionary lists it as entry 2140; the Unicode label names the character, not its meaning.
Western Xia developed Tangut writing around 1036 for government and Buddhist religious texts. It also carried official writing and Chinese works translated into Tangut. Earlier Khitan state scripts influenced its design, but Tangut remained distinct. It was obsolete by the end of the Ming period.
In everyday chat, 𗾳 reads as historical and specialist.
老 is not interchangeable with 𗾳 in Tangut text, despite the shared gloss “old.”

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
