What ♉ means
It's read as a stylized bull's head. The circle is the face and the curved stroke on top is the pair of horns, a picture-sign found in astrological manuscripts for centuries.
The sign takes its name from the constellation Taurus, the Bull, home to the orange-red star Aldebaran (traditionally the bull's eye) and the Pleiades star cluster. The two no longer line up: the sign is a fixed twelfth of the zodiac, while the slow wobble of Earth's axis has shifted the stars against it over two thousand years. In Western astrology Taurus is an earth sign traditionally ruled by Venus.
Playful astrology shorthand; you don't have to believe in horoscopes to use it.
Save stubborn-Taurus teasing for someone who enjoys zodiac jokes; otherwise it can sound like a dig.

2Worth knowing
- The characters behind ♉ existed in Unicode 17 years before anyone was allowed to draw them in colour: Unicode 1.1 in 1993, emoji presentation in 2010.
- ♉ is a single code point, so it survives copying through almost anything — old databases, SMS gateways, printer drivers.
