What ♈ means
It marks Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.
In a bio or username, the Aries symbol says “my sign is Aries.” After a boast about charging in headfirst, it turns the behavior into an astrology joke: blame the ram. Astrology classes Aries as a fire sign ruled by Mars, and popular horoscopes cast it as impatient and bold.
Why is Aries the first sign?
Because the tropical zodiac starts at the March equinox.
The tropical zodiac, the system behind everyday Western horoscopes, splits the Sun's yearly path into twelve equal signs, counting from the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator in March. Astronomers still call that spot the first point of Aries. A slow wobble of Earth's axis, called precession, has since carried it into the constellation Pisces, so the sign and the star pattern no longer line up.

- The characters behind ♈ existed in Unicode 17 years before anyone was allowed to draw them in colour: Unicode 1.1 in 1993, emoji presentation in 2010.
- ♈ is a single code point, so it survives copying through almost anything — old databases, SMS gateways, printer drivers.
