true light moon arta

True Light Moon Arta

214/246

⯟ marks True Light Moon Arta, a calculated White Moon point used in some astrology charts. Arta is distinct from White Moon Selena because it follows a “true” Black Moon Lilith calculation. A chart symbol names the point, not the astrologer’s interpretation.

What ⯟ means

It marks a calculated White Moon point called True Light Moon Arta. An ephemeris is a table of calculated positions over time. Arta is also called True White Moon; a chart may show it beside a zodiac position.

In 1985–1988, early White Moon tables took shape within the Avestan School of Astrology, a modern school founded by Russian astrologer Pavel Globa. The tables named Selena and Arta were fitted to positions Globa had assigned in charts.

In a 1996 account, astrologer Albert Timashev argued that those tables did not establish two distinct lunar points. He developed a different Arta calculation in the 1990s, tying it to True Black Moon Lilith; his True Arta ephemeris appeared in 1996.

Is Arta the same as White Moon Selena?

Arta and Selena use different White Moon calculations. Within Timashev’s system, Selena uses a mean Black Moon Lilith position—a smoothed average—while True Arta uses its changing true position. “Mean” and “true” name calculation methods, not different kinds of Moon.

A 2016 Unicode proposal described the astrology program ZET as using separate symbols for the Globa version, Selena, and Arta.

What if someone sends ⯟ without a chart?

Treat it as a chart reference until you know the astrologer’s system. By itself, the glyph names a calculated point but does not identify the sender’s interpretation. Ask which chart or White Moon calculation they mean; don’t treat the symbol alone as a personal verdict.

Specialist astrology notation whose reading depends on the chart’s calculation system.

“White Moon” can mean Selena or Arta; check which calculation the chart names.
