What 🮎 means
It shades the upper half of a character cell.
ZX81 programs made pictures with semigraphics—shaded pieces of text cells. The ZX81 launched in 1981 after the ZX80 (1980); a 2019 proposal maps this tile to slot 0x0A in the ZX81 character set.
Why preserve this shade tile in Unicode?
To complete missing pieces of the ZX81 graphics set.
A 2016 proposal also cited software recreating the ZX81 and text art.
A retro screen-graphics tile.
In the ZX81 character set, byte `0x0A` means this tile; other encodings may assign it differently.
