What 𜲲 means

It is one corner of a four-piece TV picture.

The MZ-700 TV glyph came from the European alternate display set, a second library of ready-made letters and pictures. A 1983 design report lists a TV among its 512 characters.

These presets gave its character-based screen simple graphics without drawing each pixel by hand. On the MZ-700, BASIC could not type this alternate-bank glyph; it had to be displayed with POKE, a command that changes memory.

Questions people ask

Why does 𜲲 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
