Upper Three Quarters Right One Quarter Block

680/686

𜺭 is a graphic tile with a filled top band and a strip down the right edge, leaving a lower-left corner open. In old text-mode graphics, tiles like this let computers draw pictures with character cells.

What 𜺭 means

It fills one text cell as a tile in a larger graphic. Solid and shaded block graphics were encoded in the Unicode standard in 1991 for compatibility with established computer character sets and terminal software. A 2021 proposal gathered additional graphics from home computers and teletext, the television service for broadcasting pages of text and simple block graphics. The proposal’s editors coined descriptive names for many shapes because manufacturers often published character charts or screen images without naming every glyph.
