What ꕭ means
Use a Vai transliteration layout and type ga. It maps those Latin letters to ꕭ. If your device lacks that layout, a Unicode character picker with Vai support is another option.
What does ꕭ mean?
It writes the Vai syllable ga. Vai is a syllabary: each sign represents one syllable. The script developed in Liberia around 1832–33 to write the Vai language. The earliest surviving sample of Vai writing, from 1834, already includes ꕭ.
Early handwritten forms varied. The 1962 Standard Syllabary helped settle later forms used in modern Vai writing.
A possible historical link to the Cherokee syllabary, a separate writing system, remains debated.
