What ꗏ means
ꗏ represents the Vai syllable transcribed as “lo.” A Vai syllabary uses one sign per syllable.
Vai writing developed in Liberia around 1833. Its earliest surviving sample dates to 1834; the script served schoolwork, trade records, and messages.
The set of Vai signs used in digital text follows the 1962 standard and includes material from Massaquoi’s 1911 additions. Earlier charts may show different forms.
