What 𞋇 means

The sound is aspirated /pʰ/.

Aspiration means a short burst of breath after the p. Between 2001 and 2012, Wancho teacher Banwang Losu developed the script after finding Roman-letter notes too limited for Wancho’s sounds and tones—the pitch patterns that can change a word’s meaning. Some letterforms draw on local forms such as tattoo marks, birds, animals, and crafts. In a 2022 interview, Losu described teaching the script in government schools and recording folktales and folksongs.

Why does 𞋇 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
