What ⮟ means
It directs attention or movement downward.
In diagrams and signs, arrows mark direction. A documented print from 1737 uses arrows to show water flow and a waterwheel’s rotation; later maps used solid triangular heads for military movement.
By the mid-to-late nineteenth century, arrow designs grew more abstract: designers could drop the shaft and feathered tail, leaving the head to carry direction. Arrows also marked abstract ideas, including implication in logic; ⮟ itself signals down.
Technical and diagrammatic; it reads as a directional marker.
Some fonts make it look like a plain down triangle.
