Block Octant 124568

418/686

𜶧 is a six-cell tile from Kaypro, an early home-computer maker. Its 2 4 pattern drew lines and small pictures inside text characters. Arrange octants together and they form a larger graphic.

Text symbol

What 𜶧 means

It fills six of eight pixel cells in one text character. The digits identify the lit positions. This pattern matches Kaypro’s normal character F7; a Kaypro 10 manual from 1983 describes eight-pixel character cells, four high by two wide, for drawing lines and pixels.

Semigraphics use ready-made text characters as small screen areas. A grid of octants can form pictures or dense terminal data marks.
