What means
One text cell acts as a tiny pixel canvas.
Its 2-by-4 grid has eight spots; “15678” names the five filled. Lined up with other octants, it forms larger images.
Semigraphic blocks let home computers imitate pixels in the 1970s and 1980s. In January 1984, a Kaypro 10 manual describes plotting in 2-by-4 text cells and reversing light and dark to reach every pattern; this tile belongs to its reverse graphics set.

Questions people ask
1Why does show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
