block octant-234

Block Octant-234

259/686

𜴈 is a small block pattern from Kaypro home computers; “234” names the filled parts of its eight-cell tile. These semigraphics let text screens draw low-resolution pictures. Terminal programs can reuse octants as compact pseudo-pixels.

What 𜴈 means

It fills cells 2, 3, and 4 in a two-by-four tile. Kaypro's character set used these patterns as on/off tiles for text-mode drawings. Unicode later preserved the set so emulators and text files could exchange the original graphics.
