Block octant 2348 is a fill tile for text-mode pictures. Kaypro computers used the 24 grid to plot graphics inside ordinary text cells. Some fonts may leave the glyph blank.

Text symbol

What 𜵾 means

It is one patterned cell in a text-mode picture.

Early Kaypro personal computers split each text cell into eight tiny pixels in a 24 grid. Software drew pictures by placing patterns side by side, even in text files. Unicode named octants by analogy with earlier four-part block quadrants and six-part sextants; “2348” lists this tile’s filled cells.

A terminal-image library uses octants to render pictures as text cells; its package page was published in 2026.
