𜶆 is a mosaic tile for character graphics. Kaypro used octants like this as coarse pixels on text screens.

Text symbol

What 𜶆 means

Cells 2, 3, 5, and 8 are filled. A 24 grid numbers cells across each row: 1–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8. The pattern is one mosaic tile.

How did Kaypro use 24 block graphics?

It let text screens draw rough pictures.

By 1984, Kaypro computers running CP/M, an early operating system, used each 24 text cell as eight on/off spots, letting drawing programs sketch without addressing every screen pixel. This belongs to the block-mosaic family: quadrant tiles divide a cell into four parts, sextants into six, and octants into eight. Unicode preserves this Kaypro pattern as text.
