Block Octant-367

336/686

This is a tiny text-graphics tile: one character cell divided into a 24 grid with three areas filled. The digits mark those selected areas; the character draws a pattern rather than carrying a word meaning. Repeated across a text grid, tiles like this build pictures or charts.

What 𜵕 means

It is one patterned tile in a text-based graphic. Early home computers used semigraphics: character cells broken into small filled areas to draw pictures on a text display. NEC's PC-8001 used 24 semigraphics when it was announced in 1979, an example of the same eight-area idea. The Unicode proposal preserves legacy graphics for exchanging old character data and supporting emulators. Here, 3, 6, and 7 identify the selected fill areas.
