Text symbol

What 𜷓 means

It marks one patch of an old screen picture.

The digits 4678 identify its four filled cells.

How did Kaypro use it?

It provided low-resolution pixel graphics.

A Kaypro 10 guide from May 1983 describes each character cell as eight pixels, two wide by four tall.

A 2021 proposal maps this exact pattern to Kaypro code AB in reverse video.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𜷓 show as a box?

The active font may not include it. In April 2024, Microsoft announced support for all 256 octants in Cascadia Code; other fonts can differ. A missing shape changes the display, not the character.
