What 䕝 means
Unicode treats it and 䕝 as equivalent character forms.
Unicode text normalization brings equivalent characters to a standard form: NFC, NFD, NFKC, and NFKD all turn 䕝 into 䕝. The registered sequence 䕝︀—䕝 plus the invisible variation selector UFE00—requests its matching glyph variant when a font supports it.
The Song-era Jiyun, an old Chinese dictionary, records an herb sense for 䕝. The Kangxi Dictionary, completed in 1716, also gives sesame as another name and cites a commentary on the Suwen, a Chinese medical text.
Keep 䕝 to preserve the source entry; ordinary text uses 䕝.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䕝 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
