What 紎 means
A rare character for silk cloth, including black silk.
A Chinese character dictionary records two senses: silk of varied colors, and the black-silk meaning it shares with 緇. For 緇, the black-cloth sense also came to refer to Buddhist robes and monks because those robes were black.
The older related form 䊷 appears in Warring States Chu bamboo slips. This exact glyph is recorded in 龍龕手鑑, a Chinese dictionary dated 997.
