What Д means
Д is the Cyrillic letter for the d sound. It appears in words and names written in Cyrillic.
Latin D represents a similar sound in some languages, but it is a different character. The lowercase form of this same Cyrillic letter is д.
Cyrillic developed in the First Bulgarian Empire for writing Old Church Slavonic, including Christian texts. The earliest surviving Cyrillic manuscripts date to the 10th century. Older alphabet lists called Д dobro, meaning “good.”

Questions people ask
1Why does Д show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
