What 🡃 means
It means “down” or “look below”, nothing more.
People use it to point at what comes next: a link under a post, the next step in instructions, a figure that fell, a download. The words around it say what it points at; on its own it only gives a direction. In its name, “heavy” means thick strokes and “compressed” means a shorter shaft than the ordinary heavy arrow .
Why does 🡃 show as a box on my screen?
Your font has no drawing for it.
It is a plain text character with no emoji picture behind it, and only some fonts cover this arrow block. Phones and computers without such a font show an empty box or a substitute arrow. If everyone must see an arrow, or is the safer choice.
Neutral and practical: a pointer, not an emotion.
