What 닯 means
On Korean 2-set, press e, k, f, q.
These keys enter the Hangul letters ㄷ, ㅏ, ㄹ, and ㅂ. Korean input software combines them into 닯, whose final consonant cluster is ㄼ. With another keyboard layout, enter the same letters in order with Korean input enabled. A sequence of separate letters can look like one block but remain stored separately, so some text searches or processing may treat it differently.
What does 닯 mean in Korean?
It is one syllable block, not a complete word by itself.
A Korean syllable block groups a starting consonant, a vowel, and sometimes a final consonant. Du Shi Eonhae, a 15th-century Korean translation and commentary on poems by the Chinese poet Du Fu, records the verb stem 닯- with the gloss “put on” or “wear.” The hyphen marks the stem before a verb ending; an older form indexed with it is -.
A 2024 National Institute of Korean Language report records 닯다 among traditional forms in older speakers’ responses from South Chungcheong Province, South Korea, in a meaning group covering “different” or “wrong.” This dialect form is distinct from standard 닮다 (“resemble”) and 다르다 (“be different”).
It belongs in Korean word forms; standing alone, it reads like a fragment.
Don’t substitute 닯 for standard 닮다 (“resemble”) or 다르다 (“be different”).
Don't confuse it with
