What 𘭥 means
Read it with the surrounding word group. Khitan writing mixes signs for words with signs for sounds; Chinese-derived forms do not provide a Chinese reading.
Created about 925 CE to write Khitan, the script is traditionally credited to Yelü Diela. Its forms drew on Chinese characters, while Uyghur writing influenced its sound system, though the scripts look quite different. Khitan writers used it beside Khitan Large Script under the Liao, Qara Khitai, and Jin dynasties.
Most surviving texts are burial inscriptions on stone tablets; the script also appears on monuments, bronze mirrors, tallies, non-circulating coins, and a jade cup. A Jin edict abolished Khitan scripts in 1191; Jurchen writers later modeled their own large and small scripts on Khitan.

1Why does 𘭥 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
