What 𑈆 means
It grew from Lohānākī, the Sindhi branch of the Landa script tradition.
Khojki is related to Sharada; Gurmukhi is another related Landa script. Ismaili tradition credits Pir Sadruddin with spreading it. Khojki recorded gināns (devotional works) and other religious literature. Manuscripts attest use by the 16th century; a catalog lists an institutional copy from 1736 and a reported, untraceable manuscript from 1565.
It later served Gujarati, Punjabi, Siraiki, Arabic, and Persian. Metal type expanded printing in the 19th century; later uses included ceremonies, primers, and diaspora communities, tying the script to Ismaili practice and heritage.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
