What ᥋ means
It is the Limbu numeral for five. The early written record is uneven: a catalogued alphabet book is dated c. 1730 or earlier, while the oldest known collected Limbu writings are placed in the 1850s. The modern script began developing in 1925.
From the 1920s, the script was developed and spread in Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong. In Nepal, renewed publishing after the 1990s made it a marker of Limbu identity, especially in religious books. Limbu numerals can also appear in the same document as Devanagari and Arabic-Indic numerals.
